The UCC and the Green New Deal

This past week, leadership in the United Church of Christ issued a statement in support of the Green New Deal Resolution stating in part, "For too long, the church has allowed the protection of God’s creation to become an ideological issue. The proposed Green New Deal legislation is our invitation to bring our denomination’s decades-long commitment to environmental justice and climate justice into the public square," and encouraging UCC congregations, pastors, and church leaders to speak out on behalf of environmental justice. You can read the entire statement here.
